The Jamaica Employers' Federation (JEF) was established in 1958 with the purpose of representing and safeguarding the interests of employers in their relationship with government and organised labour. Its mission is to lead the development of an enabling business environment through effective representation and the provision of value-added services that strengthen the ability of employers to optimize competitiveness and workplace harmony.
As the only organization of its kind in Jamaica, JEF has a growing membership of over 300 corporate and individual members. JEF is also a member of the International Organization of Employers (IOE) and the Caribbean Employers' Confederation (CEC). JEF represents Jamaica's sole employer representative to the International Labour Organization (ILO), which is the only UN body with a tripartite structure that facilitates the interests of workers, governments, and employers.
Through extensive research and developmental activities, as well as its international affiliations, JEF has the expertise and reach to successfully fulfil its mandate both locally and regionally. The organization has significantly expanded its range of services to better support the business development and productivity needs of Jamaican employers.
JEF's suite of services includes IR Consultancy, Research & Development, Membership Services, Events Planning & Coordination, Occupational Safety & Health, Learning, Human Resources Development & Workplace Solutions. With these services, JEF is well-equipped to provide its members with the necessary tools and resources to succeed in today's dynamic business environment.
The Jamaica Employers' Federation (JEF) is not just an organization, but a community of forward-thinking business minds who strive to create a better workplace for all. For over 38 years, the JEF Convention has been a beacon of knowledge, bringing together the best and brightest minds in the Jamaican business community.
